Taran Adarsh, an expert in the movie business, tweeted the movie’s weekend box office numbers on Monday and said, “Shehzada doesn’t live up to the expectations… The weekend business needs to measure up… It doesn’t have the big jump or turn on Saturday and Sunday that would have helped its chances. Friday was six cr, Saturday was 6.65 cr, and Sunday was 7.55 cr. $20.20 crore [plus or less]. Business (biz) in India.

After a slow start, Shehzada could have done better on the slow days. On Saturday and Sunday, it only made 6.65 crores and 7.55 crores. In response to the opening numbers, film industry analyst Komal Nahta told Hindustan Times, “It’s a flop right from the start.”

The Hindi version of Allu Arjun’s 2020 film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, called Shehzada, is a great star vehicle for Kartik Aaryan, according to an excerpt from a review of the film in the Hindustan Times. The performer is the focus of the whole movie. Even supporting characters and plot lines aren’t as important as the performer. The performer makes this old story about kids being switched at birth and a strong need for revenge seem real.

In an interview with PTI before the movie came out, Kriti said about her lackluster performance in Shehzada, “This is the character that is the most like me. I didn’t have to type in anyone else. This part was more fun and easy to deal with. I haven’t used my fancy avatar for a while because I’ve played characters from small towns. Taking a break is good and makes you feel better.
