Patricia Joan Keller McCormick was born in Seal Beach, California, on May 12, 1930. For making dives that were off-limits to female competitors and for practising off the Los Alamitos Bridge in Long Beach, California Harbor, she attracted notice when she was a young diver in the 1930s and 1940s. She attended Woodrow Wilson Academic High School, Long Beach City College, and California State University, Long Beach. Glenn, her spouse, coached divers who won Olympic medals in diving in addition to her.
